Vocalist/guitarist Scott Frilot and drummer Scott Thompson foundedSlack Adjustor in New Orleans in 2007. Frilot previously was the frontman for garage-punk outfits Electric Swamp Gas and Stereobabble. He was also a member of The Tomatoes. Thompson was the drummer for pop-punk band The Joneses and also played with The Tomatoes for a short period.
After a hiatus from music for a couple of years, Frilot and Thompson started playing live shows together in early 2007 and dubbed themselves Slack Adjustor. They performed as a two-piece for a brief period, then recruited Neil Heusel of Southern Junction and Buckshot and the Barnstormers to play bass.
The trio recently recorded their debut record Volume I at the famed Music Shed in New Orleans. The record was produced by Grammy-award winner Chris Finney.
Volume I was released on November 27th, 2009.
